What is a head spa treatment and what does it include?
A scalp facial is a head spa treatment that deeply cleanses, exfoliates, and nourishes the scalp while promoting relaxation and overall hair health.
Our head spa experience includes:
• Double shampoo cleanse to remove buildup
• Scalp exfoliation to lift flakes and debris
• Hydrating and balancing conditioning and oil treatments
• Advanced scalp tools + massage techniques
• A full-body relaxation experience in massage chairs
This is not your average wash—it’s intentional scalp therapy designed for results + relaxation.
How long does a typical head spa session last?
We offer a wide array of head spa service add-ons to create a truly unique and customizable experience. A signature scalp facial lasts approximately 60 minutes between consultation and treatment, but can last upward to 150 minutes depending on your selection of additional services.
Do you offer customized treatments for different hair/scalp types?
Absolutely–we proudly serve all hair types, textures, and densities. Our treatments are customized for each client, making us a trusted choice for a diverse clientele across Tampa. During booking and consultation, we tailor our approach to your needs and interests to ensure you receive the utmost care and attention.
Do you offer other services aside from head spa treatments?
Yes, we offer a range of esthetics services including facials, hair removal, brow shaping treatments, and lash lifts.
Scalp & Hair Health
Is a scalp facial good for hair loss or thinning hair?
Yes–a scalp facial establishes and helps clients maintain a healthy scalp environment to encourage the circulation necessary for hair growth. While shedding is normal at the bowl, a scalp facial will not exacerbate hair loss or thinning. We also offer advanced services and products to support your hair wellness journey.
Can a scalp facial help with dandruff or dry scalp?
Absolutely and it is what we pride ourselves in at Style Lounge Head Spa & Esthetics. We specialize in scalp therapies to help minimize scalp inflammation and buildup as a result of dandruff, dry scalp, and other various scalp conditions
How often should I get a head spa treatment?
Consistency is key when it comes to scalp health and hair wellness. Results from scalp facials are best maintained with at-home protocols and monthly treatments. We would not recommend more than 2 scalp facials a month to avoid damage to the skin barrier through overexfoliation.
Is a head spa suitable for color-treated or chemically processed hair?
Yes, although we would not recommend visiting shortly after these treatments to prevent potentially compromising the integrity of the hair or scalp.
Before & After Your Visit
Should I wash my hair before coming in?
No, and it is actually best to visit with 2-3 day old, unwashed hair.
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your Style Lounge experience is designed to be both results-driven and deeply relaxing.
Each appointment may include:
• Complimentary beverages
• Consultation and complimentary scalp analysis
• Changing room
• 45-minute scalp facial including water halo rinse and scalp massage
• A full-body relaxation experience in massage chairs
• Post-treatment analysis and towel dry
Will my hair be styled after the treatment?
Stylists will apply post-treatment products to hair and towel dry. Blow-outs may be added at an additional charge. Blow-outs include styling for no additional cost for length or density of hair. However, we are not able to provide silk-press styles at this time.
How long will the results last?
Results will vary depending on scalp condition, lifestyle, and other limiting factors. We recommend professional products and monthly services to best maintain results.
Booking & Policies
How do I book an appointment?
Appointments can be booked directly on our website; by phone via text or calling; or through email for large party or special event requests at styleloungetpa@gmail.com
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be submitted 24 hours prior to service to avoid cancellation fees. Same-day call ahead cancellations result in a 50% cancellation fee; no-call, no-show cancellations result in a 100% cancellation fee.
Do you offer gift cards?
Gift cards are available to purchase online or in-person.
How much does a scalp facial cost?
Scalp facials start at a base rate of $105 though prices vary depending on your preferred add-ons. We recommend a Scalp Facial and Blow-Out ($150) as an introductory experience or Scalp Facial and Mini Facial ($145) for relaxation and hydration.
Do you offer memberships?
Yes! Our memberships are designed for clients who want consistent scalp care, savings, and exclusive perks. They’re perfect for maintaining results and prioritizing monthly self-care.
Health & Safety
Are the products you use natural or chemical-free?
We use professional salon and spa-grade products from prestige lines including Kevin Murphy, Pureology, and Nioxin.
Is a head spa safe during pregnancy?
Yes, though we ask during booking and/or consultation that expectant mothers notify their stylist to ensure products and experience does not contraindicate their condition.
What if I have a sensitive scalp or skin condition?
Yes, our treatments are fully customizable. We take extra care with clients experiencing sensitivity, dryness, or irritation. Please let us know of any concerns before your appointment.
Do you service clients with hair extensions?
We can service all extensions with the exception of k-tips, i-tips, or tape-ins.
